Dr. Ai Mukai

  • "Dr. Mukai has always been very helpful in making sure I understand all of my options and the issue at hand."

  • "Thank you for helping me get back to work. I'm healthy, happy and pain free. You rock."

    Daniel K.

Dr. Ai Mukai specializes in non-surgical evaluation and management of neck and back pain, pinched nerves, and other painful conditions.

Dr. Mukai focuses on understanding the possible diagnoses before suggesting treatment options. Diagnostic work up may include xrays, MRI or CT scan, nerve and muscle testing (NCS/EMG), and ultrasound or x-ray guided diagnostic injections. Non-surgical treatment options include various types of physical therapy, non-narcotic medications, injections, and other minimally invasive procedures. Some patients also find relief with acupuncture and chiropractic care. Surgery is usually only necessary for severe cases of nerve injury causing weakness and numbness, or pain that cannot be relieved with more conservative remedies.

All of your musculoskeletal care is accessible through Dr. Mukai and the surgeons, therapists, and other medical professionals that make up the Texas Orthopedics team. From diagnostics to surgery to post-operative rehab, we’ve got you covered with convenient, high-quality care at multiple locations throughout Austin.

Dr. Mukai sees patients in our Central Austin, and South Austin locations. Call (512) 485-0514 today for an appointment or schedule an appointment online.
